Way better than expected

"Two couples dined here Sat 3/13/10. The guys checked it out first since we had never dined here and read several negative reviews. We liked the look so got the wives from the car. Not crowded. Three had the Prime Rib special for 10.95 (good deal) Not bad. Had several martini specials for $5- apparently they always have some $5 martinis. Service was excellent and pleasant. We all would return."

Best Pizza on The Cape!!

"Wow, to get a wonderfull cheese pizza for only 4$! Waitress was wonderfull and sweet.. we talked to her about the sport's mural she is doing on the wall and told her how much it brightend the room and made it a more friendly family environment.. She brought our kids football cards and hoodsies at the end of our meal and they were thrilled!! What a great local place, wish you all the luck in the world, we will be back!!"

"They have great hamburgers, the lobster salad is very good without alot of mayo and most of the food it good. I don't eat pizza so I can't comment on that. My husband likes it however, he wishes the crust was thinner. Overall we like to go there. The price and location are great for us."

"I'm not in the area that often, but since they have been open, I have been in about 7 times. I sit at the bar and the service is always great. I have never had a less than great meal. I love the local people and conversation. I'll always be back."

"The waitstaff was friendly, but the food was subpar. The pizza had a soup like consistency and the crust was soggy and limp, I don't think they added any spices to the sauce. The wings were okay. "

Terrible service, won't be back!

"After we were seated, it took a good ten minutes for our waitress to come over and greet us. She apologized and said that the other waitress had gone home and she was the only one there. We understood and were willing to let the initial wait go considering the circumstances. We then ordered an appetizer and our entrees, but we never saw our waitress again. After 45 minutes with nothing but a glass of water each, we left. We would have been more understanding however, we were one of three tables that were seated for dinner that night and felt that the lack of service was unacceptable given how quiet the place was. We both figured that if the service was that terrible, the food couldn't have been much better."

" The filthy table should have been a hint to not even sit down. But I disregarded it. Waiting for 10 or 15 minutes for the waitress should have been a second warning. But I disregarded it. The equally long wait for a beer after ordering REALLY should have been the final hint to take...but I did not.
Then finally (30 minutes) the food arrived, and I must say I paid the price for disregarding the many warnings. It tasted as if it was a reheated meal, and one that was not particularily good the first time around. Something that would have been best washed down with something to induce vomitting.

"I don't know how this place stays open. We were pretty much ignored when we walked in. Tables were not bussed. The place is seedy looking at best. Service was terrible and one of our meals was delivered with a crack from the server about how she decided how it should have been prepared. Never again."

"It's not a fancy place so therefore you don't get fancy food. The pizza is really good and the 2 times we have been there the service was great and the food was awesome. We sat at the bar and the bartenders are great. It's a sports pub so it is what it is. If you just want a appetizers,a sandwich or a pizza it's a good place to go on a weekend afternoon/evening. We like it."

"The first time we ate here we were so excited. We had the lasagna dip and a cheese pizza, and it was delicious! So then we tried take out, and the cheese pizza was a soggy nasty mess. Figuring it was better to eat in, we sat in the dining room again, and the pizza was nasty. The waitress who seems to always be there is very sweet, but somewhat...dim, and has yet to get a simple order correct. I want to like this place, I really do. But I think I will stick to BB's until something better comes along."

"We go to Boosters because it is just down the road from us and I will admit the food is pretty good. Sometimes we do have to wait a while, but that is because there is only one waitress working at any given time. Wednesday night was "All you can eat pasta" and boyfriend had penne and sausages and it was great! He's a bottomless stomach type of a guy who eats a lot, and he did eat all he could eat!!

If you are in rush to dine and leave then this is not the place for you. It does seem to take a while for the waitress to take your order. Good example - we ordered chocolate cake for dessert and the waitress brought the cake with two spoons, no napkins. By the time she came back with the napkins we had finished the cake!!

It does seem to be a family restaurant in that the waitress seems to stop and chat with everyone to see if they might need something else before she makes it back to the kitchen to put in your order...maybe if she were to concentrate on bringing the customers orders to the kitchen in a timely manner...

Although we do order pizza to eat-in and take-out and it is a good pizza. Again, you just have to wait a while. But if you are not in a hurry...it’s a good place to eat. And don’t forget to print out the coupon. I know I will."

Need a New Military Discount policy

"I've read the reviews, and while people are entitled to their opinions about whether the food is good or the service is slow, I think the underlying point here is that someone needs to pay attention to their customer reviews or this place is going to fall into the long line of places before it that have not survived at this location.

That being said, I've had nothing but issues with their so called military discount. It is advertised all over their menus, val-pak coupons etc that they offer a 20% military discount. I've been there multiple times (close to my house) and I never get the same discount. First time no issue, 20% off the whole bill. Second time, we were both asked for our military id and then given 20% off of only one item each which of course was the cheapest. Third time, we went with another family and we were told that everyone had to have military id's to get the discount. Well kids don't get military ids!!! The last straw was when we went in on Veteran's Day because they were offering a 50% discount for military. So we went with another military family and had appetizers and 2 pizzas. At the end we got no discount at all. We asked about it, produced 4 military ids and were told that since their Tuesday special was buy 1 get 1 free pizza that was our discount. We tried to get an explanation, since that was a discount for everyone, we should be entitled to our additional 50% off our meal as advertised. Even the owner disagreed and we got nothing taken off. I have not returned SINCE! "

Service was worse than awful--food was even worse. Tried dine-in and takeout . The wait was at least 3 beers long if you could get someone to get the beer for you.

"I have been to Boosters many, many times. The location is ideal and when it first opened it was good but since the early fall it has slipped down to awful! The food has been getting worse and it takes forever. The staff doesn't seem to get the fact that the customers (besides friends who sit at the bar, drink and chat) are important. We watched the owners talking with friends at the bar, ignore the bartenders and/or waitstaff's need for assitance. Last time we were there my husband waited 25 minutes for a beer and we were both shocked to see both owners just standing around talking while this tiny little 90lb bartender struggled to hook up a keg for his beer. My daughters best friends parents own Tomatoes, we have been there many times and BOTH of the owners bust their butts, they work just as hard as their staff and for good reasons-customers are #1-reputation is also #1!"

"I have eaten four times here and it's been great every time. Drink prices are nothing to complain about. Bartenders are cool and fun. My last experience I had the steak tips and they were fantastic. Someone sitting next to me agreed and had a second helping. I don't live near bye, but if I did I would definitely be in more often. The locals that do live near bye are always friendly. I always meet new people and end staying longer than intended. Also, menu has lots to choose from. Something for everyone. "

Bad Expereince

"Stopped in with the kids (3,1) two weeks ago. The place was quite so we thought we'd get good service. We were told it was all you can eat fish and chips. Our waitress seemed overwhelmed from the get go and even though there was only one other table seated. food took for ever to show up. It took 20 minutes to bring a couple of hot dogs for the kids! After dropping the food and aplogizing we nver saw waitress again. Even though it was all you could eat, and the food wasn't bad, we never had a chance to order again. When i went looking for the waitress she was sitting at the bar talking to a customer. Got the bill and left. I guess the owner doesn't mind this type of work by the staff. You just lost what could have been a local regular customer. "

"Its close to home, but terrible food! The salad was warm and brown; nachos made with squeeze cheese (who does that); chicken fingers were over done and like rubber; order BBQ pizza and was surprised that it was actually good. I see the owner talking too much with bartenders that dont look old enough to have a work permit! Staff generally rude if you dont wear a PD Badge!"

" Overpriced drinks, indifferent staff, and food that makes you yearn for a good long period of fasting are the hallmarks of Boosters. The history of this building is horrific at best, perhaps it should either be razed or turned back into the crackhouse it once was. My suggestion if you're hungry while driving down Rt 130 would be to go over to the Mobil station and drop something in the microwave."

"When I heard that the owners of the Thirsty Tuna owned this dump - I almost gagged. Not that the Thirsty Tuna is the best place in Hyannis...but it's not bad! The Booster is bad...really bad.
To get it right and get past this "star crossed" stuff of the location, this joint needs a total overhaul. Redecorate the shabby dining room and weird layout, hire a great staff and get a good menu finally! I agree with the other reviews totally. The food is awful and over priced, the wait staff is slow and inexperienced and the bar staff will ignore any non-regulars.
Owners!! You have a waiting clientele!! People want a great neighborhood location in Forestdale! Get it right. Re-do the menu, staff and decor and people will come. Gladly! But until then...stay at home. "

"I live nearby, have been a few times. The bar is great, with a big TV. The place is fixed up nicely. The neighborhood really needs a good local spot. The location is star crossed. It has been about 5 different places in the past 10 years, and all have failed because the food was inconsistent. Booster may suffer the same fate. I did have a pizza once that was pretty good, otherwise only fair. I thought the bartenders and staff were good, but the food is iffy. If anybody could possibly reincarnate the place with good decent food (like Byrne's), they would do very well, because the area really needs a good local pub, with good food. "

"Really - Forestdale is dying for a good "neighborhood" bar and grill - but this is not it. Where to begin? The atmosphere/decor is terrible...would have thought they'd change it completely from the last dump that occupied there,but no. The waitress was totally overworked (was told "the other girl didn't show up"), the food took too long and was absolutely awful. Really awful, and it's hard to screw up pizza. We almost left 35 minutes after we ordered the pizza, but felt so bad for the waitress who was trying to service her three tables (I know...this is not a stretch..but she seemed overwhelmed!)that we stayed. We heard the owner was "in the bar entertaining people". What she should have been doing was re-decorating the place, re-doing her bland, overpriced menu, firing the cook and seeing to the customers who were paying too much for the bad experience. PLEASE..owner...take advice and make this a good place. PLEASE...people...don't go there until you see a total re-hab of this ever revolving restaurant. The people are here, we will go, just don't make us regret it. "

"I went there since it is near my house. My fiancee got a combo of chicken, steak tips & shrimp. Ordered the steak medium came out like leather, well done. The shrimp was smothered in bbq sauce who does this & the chicken was so dry & overseasoned it was incredible. I ordered a hamburger which with one bite you could tell was the cheapest meat possible, I couldnt even eat it. My 6 year old got one as one & thought it was disgusting. Should have known when there was NOT one other customer in the dining room. Only 4 people at the bar"

"I am really surprised at the reveiws. I've been to booster like 5 times, and thought everything was so much better than the last place. I had chicken tenders which were clearly not frozen, a big salad that had chicken and mozzerella and we split a pizza. We had a couple beers the total was 30 bucks. I say try it again!"

"I ordered the fish n chips - AWFUL tasting (like sewage almost) and dried out. My husband ordered the Sheppard's pie - also awful and cold by the time we got it. The waitress took forever to take our order and ignored us the rest of the time we were there - there were only 2 other people eating at the time so it's not like she was busy! Everything, especially the alcoholic beverages, was WAY overpriced. I will NEVER go here again and I do NOT recommend it!"

"I went in there on a Saturday night at about 9:30. There were probably a maximum of 12 people in the bar area where I was. After waiting 15 minutes standing by myself at the bar staring at the bartender, she stopped her conversation and asked me if i needed help. I ordered my drink, a pizza and wings. After 40 minutes my pizza came out, burnt, and i was asked if i had order wings too. I sent the pizza back for a new one and waited 15 more mins for my wings.

If i wasn't the only person ordering food I might be a bit more understanding, but I wasn't. Before my burnt pizza came out I watched to cook saunter aimlessly around the restaurant, maybe my food wouldn't have been burnt had she been in the kitchen doing her job.

You won't see me back there anytime soon, if ever."
