Overpriced, Mediocre Mother's Day
Pros: Historic Antique Setting/ Good Desserts
Cons: Mediocre, Overpriced Brunch
"In the past, we've enjoyed their brunches. But yesterday we went for Mother's Day brunch and were sorely disappointed. First of all, the price was steep-$34.95 pp. Which I'd gladly pay if the food was as delicious and varied as they claimed it would be when we called for reservations. The food was mediocre, and just standard brunch fare. The best dishes were the macaroni & cheese and hot veggies. Desserts were good, but none "to die for." It was very crowded. And each time we got up from our table, we had to avoid smashing into the wait staff, who were running around crazily. Often there were lines at the main food station, but the omelet/bacon/sausage station, which was set up in the lounge, went virtually untouched. I bet some diners didn't even know it was there. Next year we'll probably go to the Dan'l Webster."
